Hatchcover Productions is the home of Jazz After Hours (PRI) and Jazz Northwest (KPLU).
In addition to the production of jazz radio programs, we also provide location recording and liner notes services to regional and internationally renowned jazz artists.
Since 1962, Jim Wilke has engineered hundreds of on-location radio shows and live recordings for NBC, NPR and regional radio. Among jazz legends he has recorded or broadcast live are The Duke Ellington Orchestra, John Coltrane, The Modern Jazz Quartet, Cannonball Adderley, Jimmy Smith, Horace Silver, Art Blakey, Wes Montgomery, Ray Charles, Woody Herman and many others. Jim is a member of The Recording Academy (NARAS), The Jazz Journalists Association and IAJE.
We've recorded solo artists to big bands on location ranging from jazz clubs to cathedrals, living rooms to major festivals. For more information, rates and availabilty, please contact us at Hatchcover.
